Gold chain puzzle
You've got someone working for you for seven days and a gold bar to pay them. The gold bar is segmented into seven connected pieces. You must give them a piece of gold at the end of every day. If you are only allowed to make two breaks in the gold bar, how do you pay your worker?

am cofused...why cant u jus jus give him the gold bar take him back from him each day and give it to him gain..??
You cant pay him more than what he shud get at a particular day, so thats y u cant give him tehwhole bar at once.
Solution:
Divide it into
2^0 2^1 2^2
---------------
1 2 4
pieces.
On :
Day 1 - give him the 1 bar
Day 2- take back the 1 bar and give him the 2 bar
Day 3- Give him the 1 bar
Day 4- Take back the 1 n 2 bar and give him the 4 bar
Day 5- Give him the 1 bar
Day 6- Take back the 1 bar and give him the 2 bar.
Day 7- Give him the 1 bar.
